Q12599 : Why the SES Software still reports “The security key is not activated on your PC, please use SESLicenseManager to activate it” even after I used SESLicenseManager to activate the SES Software?

Question

Why the SES Software still reports “The security key is not activated on your PC, please use SESLicenseManager to activate it” even after I used SESLicenseManager to activate the SES Software?

Answer

Please make sure the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service is running.

If the service is running, please use the steps below to detect and repair a corrupted WMI repository:

For Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003, download and run the WMI Diagnosis Utility.
For Windows Vista, Server 2008, and Windows 7, run the "winmgmt /verifyrepository" command to check for an inconsistent repository

And then run SESLicenseManager, click renew to activate your key.
